pear - phplib

I'm looking for recommendations on which to use for access to a mysql database, which may change of course.

Which one will likely be integrated into new versions of php? (like, in the manual and stuff too) :-)

phplib has merged with PEAR, so PEAR is the defacto standard per php distributions now.

That doesn't mean you have to like it or use it, but that's the way it's distributed.

I will use the pear methods for db access.
