Connect to ms sql server from Linux

What's the best way to connect to Microsoft
SQL server from a Linux machine (PHP4)?

Some obvious choices:
ODBC
Sybase Client Library

If you have gone down this road, would be very interested in hearing how it went.

yeah,
haven't got into it yet,
but gonna go the ODBC Socket Server

Just install it on the windows machine,
PHP can talk to it, especially with
ODBCSocketServer() object submitted by Tim.
