PHP 4.0.5 mssql german special chars

I need help to configure my php4.0.5 under windows2000 to get the right german special chars from my mssql 2000 server. Please help, i am getting really crazy with this behavior.

Hey Guys! Frank M. Kromann, the programmer of the mssql-php module himself fixes my problem. Here are his magic words:

You can enable and disable the setting of "Oem to Ansi" in the client network utility (on the box running php4)
