Date Range in Select Statement (Access)

Hi,

I am using PHP ODBC functions to access an MS Access database. I have a form that inputs a start and end date from the user, and I want to make a select statement that would filter and list the records that has the date field (of type datetime) within the specified date range. How can I put the date in the correct format in the WHERE clause of the SELECT statement.

Thanks Steve, it worked... However, I used the <= and >= operators instead of between because the startdate and end date are optional and hence not necessarily both will be available. I also supplied the date in the format 13-JUN-2001 to make sure that there will be no confusion between DD/MM/YYYY and MM/DD/YYYY.

Hi Steve,

I am working on a form, in which i need to view a log report when i enter or choose date ranges.Could u please tell me how the sql statements should like in the php script as the dates in the date field will change, when ever a new report wants to be viewed..
I think i just cant say between #06/10/2001# and #06/12/2001# ..as the dates keep changing to view different reports..hope am clear..Am new to this kind of communication...so please send me ur response to "[e-mail]".

So, you just need to build your sql statement using variables and then execute it. Like:

sql = "Select myStuff From myTable WHERE myDate between #" . $Date1 . "# and #" . $Date2 . "#"
