incase any of YOU care, the answer to my problem was:

strAnystring = replace(strAnystring, vbnewline, "{ /par }")
%>
(replace all instances of vbnewline [the reserved VBScript Carriage return command] with { /par }, the rich text format carriage return. I just happened to need the rich text format command..others might have wanted to replace it with , \n...ect.)
