thumbnails and mySQL

anyone know of an existing script or a method for dynamically generating thumbnails of images already stored in a mySQL database? Most of the scripts I've see require flat files.

I don't I'm afraid. Is it actually possible? I doubt it.

Why don't you pull the image out of the database and then create the thumbnail. Do it all server-side so it doesn't impact the client.

Even better create the thumbnail when you upload and store the thumbnail. It'll be even faster.

Better still is not to store images in the database and just store links to the images.

IMHO.
