Hi,

I have a PC with RedHat 7.1 and PHP 4.0.4
I use Postgres to store some data, so my code looks like pg_connect() pg_exec() pg_close().
I wont now to write my code with odbc functions odbc_connect() odbc_exec() and odbc_close().
The problem is that php refuse the function call ==>
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: odbc_connect() in /var/www/html/FEnquetes/PHP_lib/DataBase.php on line 16
I dont understand why !?

did you compile php with odbc / Postgres support?

I don't know if php is compiled with odbc support.
I just install an RPM of php 4.0.4 ?

I find an RPM called php-odbc but it need php 4.0.5 ??
Where can i find something for me ?

it sounds like you have the right files.. check to see if its working by making a small script with

<?php

phpinfo()

?>

and look for odbc support

You are right !!
My php is not linked with odbc.
So, what can I do ?
- get a php source and compile it
- get an rpm to add odbc lib
- upgrade my php 4.0.4 to php 4.0.5 and add the rpm for odbc

I don't find any php-odbc-4.0.4.rpm the only one is for 4.0.5 version of php. I'm affraid that i will never find it.

Well.. i would gotto www.php.net and download the source.. look at the compile options and if will be somthing like --with/odbc or sumthing like that
