"PHP+MYSQL+SUNSOLARIS" is it possible?

I want to build database using PHP4.0.5, MySql in Sun solaris Operating system, though i no nothing about Sun's OS and Web server. Is there anybody who can help me to do this. Please, help me.

Sun's web server? Just use apache; works great on Solaris!

Actually, iirc apache is what Sun supplies, but it's a fairly old version. Late last year I did an upgrade for an ISP customer who was replacing some old pizza boxes with new rackmount servers, and going from Solaris 7 to 8 in the process. The apache was quite a few revisions back so we just installed the latest source and built it.

Lots of the tools you may need (e.g. gcc) are available as precompiled binary distributions at:

Yup, it's possible!

I did it a few months ago.. it was a bugger to download the source and compile it all as the compiler on the Solaris box wasn't there or was a weird version or something.. all I remember is that I had to download gcc 2.9.5 (I think?) first before I could do anything else.. and a copy of GNU tar as well.. but we got there in the end and it all works well!
