Browse the webpage with frequent update

Dear all,

At home, my private computer is connected with my school by modem. After updating the information in the php webpage at home, I reopen the webpage and the old data still exists and the info. just update cannot be seen immediately, unless I restart my computer and re-connect the internet. However, we update the info. in my friend's computer that is connected with one of ISP by modem. The new data can be seen immeidately. Why? Is it related with the large proxy server in school or computer cache? Please give me some guidelines how to handle the active webpage with immediate update.

simon,
you are correct it could be probably due to cached page at the proxy in your school.

it could also be due to your browser setting which do not check for updates.
if you are using internet explorer 5 then check the se settings..
from tools menu select internet options .

choose the 'general' tab from the dialog box.
on it there is a button called 'settings' press it and select the "automatic option or always option" from the settings dialog.

However if this is not a problem then try this,
at the top most line in your php document
write this

header ("Pragma: no-cache");// make sure this the first line in your page or the it is before any output sent to browser
