PHP on Unix, MS Access DB on Windows

Hi,

I have php running on a free site in Unix and I have an MS Access database on another free site with an ODBC name.

Now can I connect the two of them. If so how???

I tried the odbc_connect() and it gave me an error saying that Fatal error use of undefined function odbc_connect(). Do I have to use some special parameters in the function??

Please help.

Nozer,

The error came because you don't have odbc built on your PHP. If you want to connect your Windows to Unix, I would say with either iODBC or unixODBC.
I suggest you to do some research before you choose one of them.
You can find the info about iODBC from OpenLink software (htttp://www.openlinksw.com) and unixODBC from EasySoft (http://www.easysoft.com).

Don't we have a native library in PHP itself that can take care of this?

I am using free server space hosted by someone else but i have 2 seperate locations. The access database is on a different server and the PHP hosting is on a different server.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

This error show you that the PHP don't have ODBC support. You need to ask for your hosting to re-compile PHP with ODBC support. And you can get the information from echo phpinfo().
