Some friends of mine have experienced the same trouble than this guy:

Every network services (except ping) were unusuable untill a reboot.
Error message in the apache error log:

As far as the reply of the original message went, it may be due to postgresql needed swap file.
An idea at what to do to
1) be sure this is the problem
2) fix it 🙂
