PHP 4.0.6 and Oracle 9.0.1

Does any one know how I can compile PHP with Oracle 9i support ?
If I use --with-oracle or --with-oci8 the configure script tells me, the oracle libs has a wrong version.
Any ideas...

p.s. i've solved the problem with a simple simbolic link (ln -s libclntsh.so.9.0 libclntsh.so.8.0 in $ORACLE_HOME/lib) and it works prefectly !

oracle is a very large software company. it's primary target is the enterprise database and internet market. if i talk from oracle, mostly i mean the oracle database server. you can find more informations on www.oracle.com.

I was made the link you suggested. but i still obtain /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lclntsh [libphp4.la] Error 1.

I suspect the cause is a trick i was made to install oracle 9i on my redhat 7.2 , that involves replace my binutils with rpm -ivh --force, with another older version than the version came with the Redhat 7.2.

I want to know, if you have a complete install procedure guide of Oracle 9i - php, or you can help me in any form.

I've read somewhere that PHP doesn´t still work with 9i. But what you can do is install the 8i client and compile PHP with it. 8i client libs can connect to 9i without problem.
Hope that workaround helps.
BTW, you can install both (8i client and 9i database) in the same machine. Just use a different ORACLE_HOME and set root's profile with the appropiate variables.
