Close db connections a must?

Hi!

I was wondering was happens if I ignore closing my database connections?

And if I ain't free the result from a query, what happens then? Do I lock the database?

I use MySQL as database.

PHP cleans up any mess you make.
PHP will close all files and connections, and free al memory.

However, this does NOT mean you should just forget about closing connections and freeing memory.

Not cleaning up your own mess makes you a bad programmer. 🙂
