Number of results w/ MySQL

Is there any way to find out how many total results are in the database if I did a search using a LIMIT in my query? say I did "select * from table limit 10" but then when I printed the results, I wanted to put at the bottom of the results, "Viewing results 1-10 of ?? total results", with links to view the next ten and so on.. can I do that?

do the query again without the limit just to get the total.

$total = mysql_num_rows($query);

Viewing results 1-10 of <?php echo $total; ?>

To get the next 10 use LIMIT 10,10
This wil give you again 10 results starting from row 10 so you get 10 -> 20...
