Character convertion

When I insert some php code into a MySql table, and then get it out, instead of giving a "<" character, I Mysql gives "&lt;"

For example, instead of getting <?php echo 'pooiiuu'; ?> I get &lt;?php echo 'pooiiuu; ?&gt
wich php doesn't understand...

Any suggestions?

Okay, I've done a screenshot to make it all clearer.

See, when I run the file "bleh.php", it writes two variables into the file "blah.php", and one of them it taken from the database.

And wher I run this "blah.php" file, it prints:

pooiiuu
&lt;?php echo 'something'; ?&gt;

See what I mean?

If I am understanding the problem right you need to look at using escape characters when constructing PHP strings which you want to store in a database.

So somewhere along the line the anglebrackets get replaced by their HTML equivalents, the &amp;lt;

Are you using htmlspecialchars anywhere? Especially in the part that puts the data into the database?

Yes! That was it!! How could I be so blind???
I was using htmlspecialchars when puting the MySql data into the php variable!!! How dumb of me!
