I run a web site which does a large number of page views in a day. We have been using ociplogon for 8 months now and I can't say that we haven't had our share of problems with this.
PHP looses connection with oracle from time to time, upon restarting Apache, this problem is resolved. More so in recent times my observation has been that when the site traffic is at the lowest, oracle connectivity fails the most, in the wee hours of the morning!!
I am using JDBC on another project which connects to Oracle very well and gives me good performance, we have implemented a pool using Resin Servlet Engine.
What I am now considering is :
Use the Resin JDBC Pool as a go between PHP and Oracle.
Are there any Oracle - PHP experts who is willing to help me in this project?
Anyone has an opinon?...Perhaps I am on a wild goose chase.
