Problem installing mysql on Linux

Hi all

I'm trying to install mysql onto a cobalt server running Linux.

My first problem is that when i go to /usr/sbin and try to run groupadd and useradd it comes back with "command not found" even though the commands are in the same directory !!!!!

Has anyone had this problem before. It is messnig me up cause without the user i can't run mysql unless i log in as root (NOT GOOD).

In the /usr/sbin directory are you type just the commands useradd or groupadd by themselves.

If so try prepending the ./ (that's dot slash) to the name, or try typing the entire path: /usr/sbin/groupadd or useradd.

Because of the command not found, it sound like /usr/sbin is not in you shells executable path.
