The quistion is just:
what ID has the adding got?

there code is:
query_mysql("insert into...");

how do I know that ID the adding has got?
the ID in the database is called:
ID INT NOT NULL auto_increment!

This function is mentioned in the php manual page for mysql, and has a very clear description in the manual. There seems to be a rash of people asking about this recently, and I just have to wonder--how did you all discover mysql_connect() and mysql_query() and mysql_fetch_nnnn() but never notice that mysql_insert_id() is right there with the rest? Let's all (or all of us that are using mysql, at least) take a few moments now and read that whole cover page: http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.mysql.php. There's only 41 functions, and one very brief sentence describing what each function does. Now, any time you don't know what to do with PHP and MySQL, return to this page and scan the function list first. Chances are, you will be lead right to what you need.

No. You can only get the id AFTER you added a record.
