warning with permenent connections...

hi.
when ever i try and make a permanent connection to my mysql database, i get the following warning:

Warning: Unknown persistent list entry type in module shutdown (11) in Unknown on line 0

i don't get any warning with non-permenent connections. any ideas?

mysql or php is fubar? This doesn't sound like a php-programming-level problem.

using mysql_pconnect("..."); i get the warning.

using mysql_connect("...") no error.
sorry, but isn't that php?

What I mean is, it's not something you're doing wrong in your coding (probably), but rather it sounds like the php installation itself, or perhaps mysql, is messed up.

the thing is, i get the same message on two different servers, running under different OS, with different versions of php...

Hi, I have the same problem :-(
I've just upgraded php 4.0.6 to 4.1.0.
After that, this became an issue.
Have you solved the problem ?

you could try another php or mysql installation if you get desperate, or a different os if you get REALLY desperate.

I turned off pconnects in php.ini. It's not the best but it works, and as somebody told me normal connects even better on a WINDOWS machine 😉

OK, I encountered a similar situation. I just upgraded to PHP v4.1.0 on an Apache 1.3.22 Server on Windows 2000 SP2. Using the mysql_pconnect() function I get the error:

Warning: Unknown persistent list entry type in module shutdown (11) in Unknown on line 0

If I change to mysql_connect() I do not get the error. I believe someone else reported similar results.

Any suggestions?

On a WAMP-System I turned of the ZendOptimizer in the php.ini-File. No more warnings.
Apache 1.3.22 / PHP 4.1.0 / MySQL 3.23.46
ZendOptimizer 1.2.0

This is a known bug with persistent database connections. Switching to
non-persistent connections or ISAPI avoids this problem.
