max size of mssql field

i am retrieving a text field from sql server 7 and it cuts the data off after 4095 chars. in odbc you can concatenate a long string back together by just referring tom the resultset again and again. can you do this in mssql?

Try executing this sql statement
before executing your real query:

SET TEXTSIZE xxxx

where xxxx can be any integer.
