Thanks for the response. We won't be using the database for transaction account history or anything, just sales leads off online forms which are accessed with Siebel eventually. They are concerned about cpu time and we get about 2 million hits a day. Do you think MS SQL would run efficiently, because I know they won't use potgresql.
p.s.I have found Enhanced MySQL at nusphere.com which offers system recovery and rollback features, row level locking etc.. for e.g. transactions.
