Oracle connection error?

Hi,

i have Oracle installed. And when i try to connect with PHP, it returns to me a error:
Warning: _oci_open_server: ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error in \oracle_test.php on line 5

what means this error?

Unfortunately, this is the last error number in this sequence, which basically means, \\"something\\'s not right\\" - not a lot of help.

You can check http://www.oracle-error.com/ora-12560.htm for an overview of the error.

It sounds like Oracle found the listener ( or you would have got ORA-12541) and found the service name (or you would have got ORA-12154).

If you\\'re connecting to a database on the local machine, check your config file (should be at $ORA_HOME/network/admin/tnsnames.ora). You can use \\'localhost\\' in the \\'HOST\\' parameter. This might solve the problem.

That looks correct to me.

The 'lsnrctl' program wil give you the status of the listener.

Try 'lsnrctl status' and check to see that you get a "Service Summary" listing for the database (db?).

You might also want to make sure you've got at least ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID environment variables set within Apache.
