MySQL and MsSQL???

Hello,

I'm working on this project for this client of mine. His webspace supports PHP 4 but not MySQL!?!? The webspace supports these databases:

• MSAccess
• MSSQL
• MSFoxPro
• Dbase

Now... I'm sure it is my fault for not knowing other-than-MYSQL-databases... but just your opinion: which one should I use instead of MySQL??? Which one of the above-listed DBs is most similar to MySQL so that I can use it? Or is there some tool to convert or help in adapting MySQL code to MsSQL???

I think you should use MSSQL, it's more reliable in PHP since PHP has provided API for MSSQL

MsSQL and MySQL are almost identical in syntax, except MSSQL has a few extras like multiple queries and RIGHT joins etc.

Thank you guys for your unrestricted help. Is MS SQL free to download like MySQL is because I want to download it on my llaptop (Win2K-Server) to try it out. I doubt this because of the "MS" part but, hey, you never know...

well, that's the point : MSSQL is not free to download, or you could purchase MSSQL 7 Desktop edition for lower price

actually they do have an evaluation version. check out their web site ... its like $10 for them to send you a CD. Not sure about the download. And not sure on the duration of the trial period.
