Access db > mysql.db (query, !source)

Hello,

I have an old propietary m$ access db and I would like to dump its contents into a mysql db. The solutions I have seen on the web fail as I can't access the access.db source. So can't export the tables to text and can't play with modules. Alls I can do is query the db. Right now I have something that looks like:

Not sure if this is correct way to go about it and lost where to go from here. Any pointers/help/ideas would be appreciated. Please don't say mysql-front either as i error when I attempt to use it.

export the Access DB to a text file, don´t change any of the options that come by default when exporting, then use the next mysql command:
LOAD DATA INFILE 'name_of_the_file.txt'

INTO TABLE name_of_the_table

FIELDS TERMINATED BY ';'
ENCLOSED BY '"'

LINES TERMINATED BY '\r\n'

of course, you have to create the table structure previously.

As stated in my orginal message, I can't access the source, its old and propietary. This also means I can't export it as text. All I can do i s query it with odbc sql commands and thats it. Before you ask, if I double click the db, a screen pops up asking for a pword (which I enter). I then have a gui menu which I can add/delete/edit records. ALL MENU OPTIONS (in the menu bar) are grayed out. I can not do anything other than use the gui menu the creator provided. Not trying to do this the hard way on purpose 🙂

can you not simply do an SQL query such as select * from table

and get all the data onto screen, then copy paste to Excel and save as text file...etc etc etc.
