anyone at f2s ??

I've never put anything on the net before so this is all new so please give that some consideration.

I opened an account at f2s with database and when I sign in to my database all I get is all this info on phpmyadmin.I take it I have to download phpmyadmin and install it on my system,I dont see any documentation on what to do with it.It doesn't say upload it to your site,install it on your system or anything,I'm presuming it is something like cute ftp but for administering my database.I do realise that I use it to build my tables etc,sadly believe I have to configure it aswell.

I am used to working directly with mysql to create my tables and I thought that mysqladmin was for working on the net,wish I had known I would need phpmyadmin.

So what do I do with this phpmyadmin anyway ?

is mySQLadmin, its just a webbased admin software for setting up your MYSQL. You need to set up which databse your going to use, postgres or mySQL before you attempt to login.

Just upload your php files as usual to ftp://ftp.yoursitename.f2s.com/

Before you get too excited Im having HUGE problems with f2s at the moment, both postgres and mysql appear to be very broken, and have been for a few weeks/mounths.

phpMyAdmin is solely for adminning a MySQL database. Yu only need to download it if you run MySQL locally, which I'm guessing you don't.

You might want to look into MySQL-Front if you are running windows platform. It is a great program, and it's free.

I have supposedly set up a MySQL database at f2s thats my problem.When I log-in all I get is links to phpmyadmin.When I first log-in all there is a page with my details and a link that says web tools or something,I would tell you exactly what it says but I cant even log-in right now.Anyway,I click on the link "web tools" (because thats all there is in there) and it takes me to a page for phpmyadmin (3 links).I've looked and looked hard,there is nothing else,the only thing on the left is my username and a log-out link,thats it,this is why I dont understand what I am meant to do.

Can you suggest another free service (without ads) that has mysql and a better service,this f2s is already proving to be crap.

I am running MySQL locally (on my machine) and I like working with MySQL and PHP although its a hell of a learning curve for some-one with NO programming experience.I build my tables in MySQL but I dont seem to be able to do this at f2s,all I have is a link to phpmyadmin which has left me thinking I need phpmyadmin to work with my database at f2s,fair assumption?

Problem with never doing this before is that I dont know if its a problem at f2s or if I'm missing something,I'm only starting to believe its a problem at f2s due to the replies to my original post,I'll happily give some-one my password to check things out as this is only a site for me to learn on,theres nothing important in there,I'm just trying to learn how things work on the net apart from making myself look stupid.

Until I sort out what is going on a present I am confused,but is mysql front supported by most hosts out there ?

I'm getting real sick of learning something to find I have wasted my time (although thats a lesson in itself),but it makes progress slow,I then end up reading for hours and getting more confused,I really need to start putting some practical application into all of this and thats why I decided to get something on the net before going too far.

I hate this talking about something I dont have a clue about and then when there is something wrong at the other end you dont know its wrong because your've never been there before and you start asking stupid questions,this is really frustrating.
