Database connectivity with visual basic

I am developing a package using visual basic 6.0

my problem my backend will be either oracle or MS Sql, It depends upon client side.

so now i will have to design the package in such a way that same package will work for either type oracle or sql.

I have heard that there is some code in visual basic which identifies the details and works accordingly. so do u know how to do it? if yes please and reply as soon as possible..........waiting eagarly for reply
