can you chmod files under windows 98 using a vurtual unix system. i have apachie 1.3.20 and i need to chmod some files. all i have is a local server. i would like any help i can get. thanks in advance.

win98 with FAT16/FAT32 partitions has no concept of file security. apache should have full access to any file so whatever problem you're having is unrelated to file permissions.
