How to backup/restore a Access database

Is there a good/easy way to backup and restore a Microsoft Access database using php? I would appreciate any suggestions or code snippets concerning this matter. Thank you.

Hi,

You could use the ODBC functions to connect to it and back it up table by table by selecting results.

Access is (usually) a single file based database. Why not just backup the file?

I'd go for the file-based backup, just setup an AT job or something like that on your windows server. (assuming you are on a windows server. Nobody in their right minds would use Access databases on a unix server)

I want to echo what the other posters recommended, there's no need to involve PHP. Just create a new scheduled task.

Go to the Scheduled Tasks (windows scheduler)
Create a new Task with:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\MSACCESS.EXE" "C:\db\DM_list.mdb" /compact E:\backup\dm_list.mdb

Voila done!
