Small Databse concept - help needed

Hi,

Just help me in doing this.

I have a databse with a table containing rows - STALL NO. & STATUS.

There are 200 stalls and for each one it has a status ( BOOKED or AVAILABLE )

Now comes the real part.

To book a stall, the user fills in a form with essential details ( name, address, etc.)
Now when he goes to stall preferences, he needs to choose the name of the stall. When he chooses a stall, it should be verified with the database and a popup must come if the stall is already booked.After successful submission, the organiser gets the submitted form as email and after verifying the details and payment, he goes to a webbased interface and logs in to the database and changes the stall status as booked.

Hope I have been clear.

This is the concept. If ther is any alternative to this, do suggest me.I would love to hear.

PHP has a more intelligent approach than ASP :-)

PHP makes arrays called HTTP_GET_VARS and HTTP_POST_VARS.

Alternative way of doing it, compared to what?

Sounds just like the job for mySQL and PHP. Can't see what the real problem is.

If I were you, I would look at the tutorials on this site, although Rome wasn't built in a day. For me to explain everything here would take ages, and would replicate the information on the tutorials.
