phpmyadmin local/remote

Hi,

I am new to phpmyadmin and wish to access a database on my website using a local copy of phpmyadmin. My hosting company have created a database with DSN on the server but I have no idea how to configure my local copy of phpmyadmin to acces this databse or even if it is possible.

Hi Susan,

you might want to take a look into the README and INSTALL files that come with phpMyAdmin.
After that look at config.inc.php.

To answer your question: phpMyAdmin will let you connect remote servers. What I don't know is whether your hosting company allows remote access. Ask them.
