Storing Real Audio

Does anyone have any ideas as to how to store Real Audio clips in MySQL & access them?

My only conclusion so far is to upload files to a directory on server, and just include the link in the database. However, this is not ideal, as third parties need to upload files, and will have to enter the correct filename etc in database.

But with Real Audio requiring both .rm & .ram files to stream properly, I can't see any other option. Can anyone else??

Why would you ever want to store a file in a database anyway?

Just let the thirdparty upload the files, and create a script that will store the file in the correct location and that will put the location and the original filename in the database. Then you can search the database for the file, and but access it from disk, which means you can let realaudio-server serve it.
