Select Inverse of a Regexp?

Is there an easy way to select the inverse of a regexp statement? I have the following statement that selects valid email addresses:

SELECT email FROM applications WHERE email regexp '^{([0-9,a-z,A-Z]+)(.,)@(.,,-).{2}([0-9,a-z,A-Z])?$'} ORDER BY email";

I want to be able to select the email address that DO NOT meet the above expression...

The SQL might be a little off here, but how about something like...

SELECT email FROM applications WHERE NOT IN (SELECT email FROM applications WHERE regexp '^{([0-9,a-z,A-Z]+)(.,)@(.,,-).{2}([0-9,a-z,A-Z])?$')} ORDER BY email";

Hank
