mysqldump syntax

I want to run a php script from crontab, to backup my database weekly. I will have to supply my username and password to mysqldump and unsure of the syntax.
PHP 4.0.4pl1 | Linux RH 6.1

Thanks for the help vincent, didn't realize it sounded so much like lazy plea for a handout. I spent more time in the last day than I would care to admit in that manual, the O'Reilly book the php manual let alone digging thru the archives here. I don't get it, didn't find it... that's why I asked for help.

They even offer examples at the bottom of the page. If you really read that page and still don't understand, then come back 😃

It finally sunk in..... I did read the page and followed all the links I was thinking I wanted to write a dump.php page to call by crontab......
