mysql and php

Can anyone help me. I am using mysqladmin the web-based addministration system desinged in php for mysql. It works fine.
However i cant seem to administer it by command line. In fact there is no command that it will even recognise. Its almost as if mysql wasnt there.

Can anyone help.

How did you try doing it by the commandline, and what errors did you get?

I got that the command doesnt exist. Ive tried all the commands i ve read about but nothing. Im using NT if that makes any difference.

Sorry, as you can see by my verbal prowess, ive only just woken up.

Every command i try comes up with the following error.

The name specified is not recognised as an internal or external command.

Basically there seems to be no sign of mysql but the web-based mysqladmin which i downloaded will connect to it.
