importing mySql tables from windows

I am running MySQL on a Linux based Cobalt Server. I have a table on my PC run MySQL that I want to copy onto the Linux machine. I FTP'd the table files into the appropiate directory, but now the table is read-only. Any guesses on how to fix it. (I have already tried FLUSH and UNLOCK)

If the problem is what I think it is... as long as you are the owner of the files (Possiably root, not sure) then;

chown FILES mysql:mysql Second mysql may be deamon or users if mysql:mysql try other...

should fix it.... that is if the files are allready in MySQL structure format...

Have you tried a direct dump with this?

mysqldump --opt -u user -pPasswd db | mysql -u user -pPasswd --host=host-ip -C db

I did. I got the message " 'my computer' is not allowed to access this Mysql Server. Is there something on the Server I have to setup to allow me to connect?
