Simple Query !!

I have a field called "age" in my databse , and if I want to search about the members who are between 23 to 40 ..what will be the sql Query ??

like ..select * who are between age 23 to 40 ????

I'm beginner php and fullon studying PHP and mysql at the moment.
I didn't test next query but i think it has to be something like this:

$query= mysql_query ("select * from tablename where (age>'22' and age<'41')");

close, but if age is a number field there is no single quote its just age>22

also I know in oracle there is a between statement that looks like
select * from tablename where age between 22 and 41

I know this doesn't answer your question, but it might be good to think about.

Is "age" good data to use? Seems to me in most cases, age would change from year to year. You wouldn't want to update all your records every year. Perhaps birthday or birth year would be better? Or perhaps your application is one of those few instances where you really want age at a certain moment in time.
