Need help w a databasedesign

I want to create a database for a bookstore-portal (a portal with some bookstores inside).. I've been trying to figure out a slick databasedesign - but I'm having some trouble with it.. This is sort of what I have in mind:

A "books" table with information about various books - with the ISBN number as the primary key..

A "bookstores" table with information abut the different bookstores - with a B1, B2, B3 etc as the primary key..

Now the question is how am I supposed to implement what books the different bookstores are carrying? I thought about adding a cell with the different B1, B2, .. to the books-table - but that would result lot's of cells with the same info -> which isn't all that good..

How should I do this?? =)

what you could do is create a third table containing ISBN and Store ID, and just use the two lookups:
select * from refrancetable where isbn = $isbn

select * from refrancetable where sotreid = $storid

then use a for loop to extract and display all the data.

This would of course become a HUGE table but it is better than merging it with another to only increase the size and if you're running MySQL I don't think you'll have a problem as long as it is tweaked correctly

Ah - I think I figured it out.. an extra table with both the isbn no and the B* as the primary... sorry! =)

Yes - that's what I just figured out after posting my question 🙂 Thanks for the quick answer!! Hmm.. although it will be quite problematic if I want to remove a bookstore - won't it?

Not at all.. just
delete from refrance table where storeid = $storeid
