help: readonly user table

hi,

i'm having a problem here that i have searched all over for the answer towards..

mysql is on a win 2000 server if that makes any difference.

it seems that the user table is readonly, therefore i can't change the root password, add new users, etc..

this is a bad thing.

any suggestions on what to do? (to make it not readonly?)

Try to install phpMyAdmin on your server.

With this tools you can access to mysql/users and change data.

Note that,after installing mysql server the root user have no password

thanks for the reply, but i fixed it.

i simply uninstalled, then reinstalled mysql onto the server.

i still do not know why it did not work the first time
