Dynamic URL Generation

Hi all,
Just trying to generate dynamic URL's form a MySQL DB based on ID. I spent about 2 minutes on this code then realized i had NO CLUE how to do this. Please suggest something new. For a good laugh here is the code:

$mysql_result = mysql_query($jobsall, $mysql_link);
$id = $idselect;
$idselect = 4;
while($job = mysql_fetch_row($mysql_result))
{
$id = $job[0];
$title = $job[1];
echo "<a href=\"employment.php?idselect=$idselect\">$title</a>  ";
echo "$title";
echo '<br>';
}
?>

this was my first effort and the core logic is well, non-existent but i was hoping to get some ideas before i waste time on developing core logic that doesn't work.

Looks like you are pretty much on the right track here.
Fetch data from the database and create a new string in the shape of a url.

Though I would advise you to use mysql_fetch_array($mysql_result,MYSQL_ASSOC)
instead of just fetch)_row,
because using the array you can retrieve your database data by name instead
of by number, which in the end makes your life much easier.

As another option, you could have the database generate it for you. This would offer no improvement but it's fun:

"select concat('<a href="employment.php?idselect=', id, '">', title, '</a> ', title, '<br>') as url from employment order by id"

I only suggest this because you are not using templates (hint, hint).
