MySQL Database PROBLEM

The database (table actually) that I am using slows down after a couple of days and even stops functioning. I've increased the memory as well as the maximum connections allowed. The code seems to be clean as well. But why does it still gives such problems?? Any ideas?

I use PHP for accessing the db.

does that mean that it start working fast again after a restart?

You'll need to investigate a lot more to find your problem. What exactly is slow, can you still access the database from the commandline, how many records are there in the table, etc etc.

yes it actually processes faster when I restart the database. The other tables in the database seem to work fine. There are about 20,000 records in the table.

The php page that accesses the database takes an extremely long time to load and often displays the "cannot find file" error page. I know that it is not a problem with the server since all the other scripts work and they work on other tables in the same db too.

I can access the database but not the table once the problem occurs.
