Ok I am running into a problem here, I am a web developer with advanced experience in PHP, mySQL, ASP, FLASH and so forth.

I have a website designed with PHP 4.0.6 and mySQL (www.atkinsmachinery.com) what I am needing to do is create and application program that runs on there harddrive to keep track of the inventory in the database and there quoting and user system, letting them create PDF's and send quotes through email under this system.

What should I do, I was going to use FLASH, PHP, MYSQL, but I am trying to stay away from the web, I think that is what the client want or else I would of designed a web admin section to do all of this.

They are running a Linux Server in house. Is there a way to use PHP in an Stand Alone Application Development or will I need to goto something such as VB and connect with myODBC or something, any help would be appreciated.

I'm confused by this. Do you mean your client doesn't want to use the internet (web), or they don't want to use a browser and web server in-house?

If it's the former then why not just run apache on their linux box and stick with PHP and mySQL?

If it's the latter, they need educating. Tell them how much money they could save on your bill becuase of all the stuff you can reuse...
