retrieving java-applets from mysql

Hi,

I'm familiar with storing images into a database en retrieving them to sho them in a html-page.

Is there a way to do the same with java-applets which are stored in a database? What kind of header do I have to put at the top of the page?

Storing images in a database is a bad idea but I can imagine it helps if you have 50000 images to work with.

But why on earth would you want to do this with java applets? How does it help?

It's because I have to store a lot of IPIX-presentations. IPIX is a 3d virual tour stored in een java-applet

So why don't you 'just' store them on disk ans put the disk-location into the database?

Yeah, I propably do that. Tell me why is it so bad to store images or binary data in a database?
