AS/400 and PHP

Hi all...
I need help with PHP and AS/400 Database...
I've read that I could connect to AS/400 DB2/400 using ODBC (that doesn't really use ODBC, I've read that too). But I'm too confused.

let's suppose the following:
AS400=10.1.1.1
DATABASE NAME=TestDB
USER=QSECOFR

Can anyone give me some example from scratch of how to connect to my AS400 DB?

actually I'm doing that same idea.. data from php/mysql to our as/400 database.

I'm going to be transmitting data via secure flat files. It might be a crap way to do it, but thats what we've chosen. haha

I had the same question as well, but I am not sure if you can make a direct connection with php? In any case, I ended up having our AS/400 DBAs at my company create a trigger program which would pass me the correct data. This is similar to the flat file option which the other reply mentioned, however it was a little more complex.
