inserting html into Flash

Can anyone help me?
I am working on a project- the client want me to make a flash movie that calls up existing html text into the flash file- is there a way of doing this without using the variables- the client would have to change the html code to include variables on 250 pages- not do-able. There must be an easier way. Please HELP- frustrated designer

Sure - but you describe your situation in a way that makes it impossible to describe how. What is the format of these variables in 250 files?

If you have to, you can use an Apache directive - messy but may be necessary.

Also, the fact that you have 250 files to work with is probably not that big of a deal, if you are familiar with expressions and sed.

Sorry if I made myself unclear- there are no variables in the html pages- the client just wants the flash file to display the html pages- it would be easier for the clent to update any information in the html pages- so essentially all the flash file is a nav bar that calls up external html pages and displays them through the Flash file.

Hi,

I've recently worked on a project similar to your currnet situation. I won't say it's impossible, but -as I understand- you'd like to have an HTML editor in Flash.

Let me say it's a better (and comfortable...) idea to make such an editor out of a mix of technologies. We did it in Flash+HTML. Needs some javascript, but Flash is smart enough to do some parsing jobs on the files or variables, too.
And (let's say) more compatible on cross-browser issues than javascript can be. (Netscape vs. M$ for example...)

Why not just create a Frame set in HTML with 2 rows and set the border to zero. Then just put the Flash Movie on the Top row. And have the HTML pages come up below it. You sayed the Flash was used as a nav bar so this should work fine. I had to that for a project i was working on last year. Also Flash does not support HTML code.

But is it possible to insert who html docs in flash, s that you enjoy the functionality of html as well as the glossy output of flash,. I know that you can display text and asp results in flash , but can you do th same with html.
