Sig 11s are very bad. Under Linux it usually means bad hardware, but under cygwin it could just as well mean that your cygwin install is somehow messed up.
I'd re-exrtact all the tar files and re-build all the software. You may have gotten some single bit error in an executable somewhere during build due to faulty memory or just a hard drive sector having a bad day.
But I'm just guessing, I don't use windows or cygwin, just Linux and Unix.
