Hello there We have a Cold Fusion/MS SQL driven sports website (www.capperworld.com)with a relatively complex database. We are about to switch to another hosting company and they recommended converting our MS SQL database into MySql. I don't know what the difference is between the two languages and whether it is a good idea. Also if we would to convert the database to MySql would modifications be needed to the Cold Fusion scripts to work with MySql? Thanks a lot. Christine
If you're using views, stored procs, transactions or any other "advanced" db features you should probably look at PostGreSQL. Migrating to MySQL would likely be pretty painful.
