Hi everybody,
as u can see I'm quite newbie but I'll try to be as clear as possible :
I'm running apache/mysql on win2k (I know it's not the best but that's all I have for the moment).
problem is that everything was working fine until last week then after some php lessons I wanted to secure my mysql so I have tried adding a user. didn't worked, telling me read only user table 1036 !!!
ok, then I tried to send an unlock tables; and didn't worked. uninstalled mysql and retried several times. again read only !!!
what do I do wrong, I've tried to find answers on the documentation and nothing. Looks like this problem isn't known, a friend logged in from his computer and send a unlock tables command and he succeeded. unfortunately the day after I had to remove mysql cos it wasn't working good cos it wasn't connecting the the database anymore 🙁
So, I reinstalled it and then the read only problem shows up again. damn it !
now, I don't even know where to seek for a solution. maybe some of you will be able to help me, I hope.
I forgot to say that, as I've not much money, I'm hosting my own domain name.
