jeremy,
I do know that using a great deal of columns in a single table is not the best of ideas, but when one is arguing the point with management, you do what the guy who signs your paycheck says. The table in question (on paper) has 512 elements, 16 columns by 32 rows and each element must be stored. I had suggessted splitting the table into 4 tables of 16x8 items, but it was demanded it "all be in one place" so it's easier to find. I explained the concept of an ID that would link all the tables together, but it fell on deaf ears. However, I think I'll do it anyway as per the fact that you pointed out.
Thanks.
