error ORA-12705

hello,

i'm using php 4 on a redhat 7.0 server.
i've installed an oracle 8.0.5 client and all is working fine when i connect to my oracle 7.3.4 server.

now i try to connect to an oracle 8.1.7 server and i keep having this error :

"ORA-12705: invalid or unknown NLS parameter value specified"

and the more curious is that it's working with sql*plus! i only have this problem with php. i've checked ORA_NLS, NLS_LANG variables and i can't see anything wrong.

any idea???

I received that error when I was creating a PHP page that had 3 different modes-- and shared variables between them.

I declared the variables as "global" in each function and it was fixed.

what do you mean exactly with "3 different modes"?
