Complex Updates? MySQL

I'm banging my head against the wall trying to get something like this to work:

UPDATE products SET relDescriptionId=descriptions.descriptionId WHERE descriptions.description = productstmp.text AND products.name = productstmp.name

Unfortunately it gives me an error saying it can't find table descriptions

I tried doing it like a select and listing all the used tables in the update xxx,xxx,xxx set... to no avail.

Unfotunately this is an incorrect call. The where clause in MySQL can only be used to restrict against the values in the table, not against values from an additional table.

Yes, I'm wondering how it can be possible... as it is possible with the SELECT function

example from Database Normalization article:
SELECT name, url FROM users, urls, url_relations WHERE url_relations.relatedUserId = 1 AND users.userId = 1 AND urls.urlId = url_relations.relatedUrlId

Something simmilar must be available for updates as well... or I should hope anyways.
